How much does it cost to ship a car?

Prices to ship a car are not set on stone as there are many factors that affect a price. Factors such as type of car, time of year, gas prices, time flexibility, destinations, and type of carrier affect price in different ways, therefore it is important to call in to request a quote rather than guide yourself by online calculations only.

 

How long does it take to deliver a car?

Delivery times are guided mainly by the distance. The calculation si approximately 500 miles a day, not counting how many jobs are ont he way or the route the driver follows. To have an idea,  East and West coast deliveries either north-south or south-north is approximately 3-5 days, cross country trips either straight or diagonal destinations is 7-10 days.

 

What paperwork is needed to transport my car?

Theonly paperwork you need in order to transport a car is your booking contract and the car key. Titles or tags are not required.

 

Do I have to be present when car is being picked up or delivered?

The owner of the car is not required to be present, however someone of trust must be present to give car away or receive it, as drivers must check car with said person for any damages before or after transportation. This person will have to sign a Bill of Lading, which is the contract between you in the driver and will be your evidence upon delivery if any damages occur.

 

When I transport my car is itr driven?

You can hire a professional driver to transport your car, however this is a different service called Drive Away. When you hire a carrier to transport your car, cars are mounted on special carriers that transport cars from one point to another.

 

Are there different prices according to the season?

Yes, season affects greatly the prices to ship, regardless of the distance. Summer and WInter season are the highest peaks in the industry. Bad weather conditions can make road conditions very risky for drivers and this causes prices to be  higher as mechanical issues are more probable.

 

Are there any cancellation fees?

Cancellation fees apply only when a driver has been booked. Make sure you check the terms of your agreement before making a deposit to avoid last minute surprises.

 

How do I know when the driver is coming?

Drivers contact customer upon pickup and delivery approximately 3-4 hours prior to exact time, once they are close to location they also contact you to make sure you are ready.

 

Is my car covered by the carrier's insurance?

Yes, cars are fully covered during transit, thi sis why it is important you hire a reliable transporter with current paperwork in case of any mishap.

 

What is door-to-door service?

This is aservice offered by most carriers in order to accommodate private owners. Door-to-door service picks up and delivers your car from the address you provide. There a some cases where the exact door pick up cannot be provided due to gated communities or narrow streets where carriers cannot go through, in that case driver will ask customer to meet him in the nearest open area.
